NY Giants fans had split emotions during Sunday’s 18-21 win over the L.A Chargers. Star receiver Malik Nabers exited the game with a now confirmed torn ACL during the 2nd quarter. Nabers’ injury is devastating for Brian Daboll and the Giants, whose season continues to create obstacles that are difficult to overcome. Bad news for Fantasy managers who drafted Nabers, as his season is over. We’ve all been bitten by similar news. If you’re already struggling at the WR position, I would look for a trade and keep an eye on the waiver wire.
The good news is that Giants rookie QB Jaxson Dart had an impressive debut. Dart completed 13/20 pass attempts for 111 yards and 1 touchdown. Dart also added 54 rushing yards and 1 touchdown to keep the score close. The rookie was impressive in his season debut, so fantasy managers looking for a QB should consider Dart as his rushing ability boosts his fantasy ceiling.
The Giants leaned heavily on the ground game against the Chargers. Rookie RB Cam Skattebo led all backs with 25 carries for 79 yards and caught 2 passes for 11 yards and no touchdowns. Skattebo is locked in as the Giants ‘ down back thanks to his receiving skills. Fantasy managers should keep starting Skattebo as the Giants will rely even more on the ground game going forward, especially in Week 5, when the Saints let James Cook run all over them.
In Week 4, Giants WR Darius Slayton led all receivers with 3 receptions and 44 yards and no touchdowns. TE Theo Johnson followed with 3 catches, 17 yards, and 1 touchdown, so he may see more targets as well. Wan’Dale Robinson finished with 3 receptions for 14 yards. With Nabers out for the season, I expect Rookie QB Jaxson Dart to get his receivers more involved in a Week 5 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.
The Buffalo Bills ran over the New Orleans Saints, winning 19-31 in their Week 4 matchup. Buffalo’s QB Josh Allen was locked in, completing 16/22 passes for 209 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, while rushing for 45 yards and 1 touchdown. Allen is playing like an MVP in 2025, and with multiple options on offense, Allen is a top 3 QB in fantasy. Allen and the Bills will face QB Drake Maye and the New England Patriots in Week 5, so expect another high-scoring game.
Bills RB James Cook crossed the century mark for the 3rd consecutive week. Cook was electric against the Saints’ defensive front with 22 carries for 117 yards and 1 touchdown while adding 3 receptions for 18 yards. Cook is the top option in the Bills’ offensive schemes each week. The high volume of touches and redzone opportunities makes Cook a top 5 running back each week.
Bill’s WR Khalil Shakir led receivers again with 5 receptions for 69 yards and 1 touchdown. Shakir had a modest Week 4 but was able to find some space once again in the end zone. Shakir is a top target for Allen in the red zone, and despite his low volume, expect the top wideout to continue scoring touchdowns for Fantasy managers.
Bill’s TE Dalton Kincaid helped fantasy managers once again with 1 reception, 28 yards, and 1 touchdown. Kincaid was quiet most of the night but was able to bring in his only target for a score. Kincaid is touchdown dependent each week, but targets will continue in the red zone.
The NY Jets ended their week 4 Monday night matchup losing to the Miami Dolphins 21-27, now 0-4. Justin Fields was exceptional in his first game back from injury, but he started the game off slowly. Fields completed 20/27 pass attempts for 226 yards and 1 touchdown, while adding 8 carries for 81 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. Fantasy managers who started the Jets QB in Week 4 were thrilled to see his 27.14 points despite losing a close game. Fields has another advantageous matchup against the Cowboys in Week 5, so he will be a streaming option.
Jets WR Garrett Wilson ended his night with 6 receptions, 81 yards, and 1 touchdown late in the 4th quarter. Wilson came alive in 2nd half after being held in check in the 1st half of the game, salvaging his Week 4 for fantasy managers. Wilson continues to be Fields’ top target in the short and deep passes, but has been shadowed well by defenders to start the season. Look for Wilson to continue being targeted and break out in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys’ weak secondary.
Jets RB Breece Hall led all backs in rushes Monday, with 14 carries for 81 yards, adding 5 receptions for 30 yards and no touchdowns. Hall is running the ball well, but the Jets’ stagnant offense is an issue. With Fields under center, Hall will continue to lose goal-line touches, but he remains a focal point of the Jets offense.
