Jets
Coach Aaron Glenn announced he will bench Justin Fields after another horrendous performance in Week 12. Coach Glenn’s support for Fields has been notable, providing his QB with plenty of opportunities to improve. The Jets’ Week 11 loss to the Patriots provides minimal hope for the future with Fields under center. The Jets will start veteran QB Tyrod Taylor in Week 12, facing Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. The Jets’ season is over, and they’ll look to begin rebuilding the roster.
Justin Fields
Field’s performance in Week 11 was not terrible, but coach Glenn’s decision to bench the QB is not surprising. Fields ended Week 11 completing 15 of 26 attempts for 116 yards and 1 touchdown. Fields added 11 carries for 67 yards on the ground and 1 touchdown, but his indecisive playmaking abilities are absent as QB. Fields is holding on to the ball too much, and his accuracy efficiency has fallen tremendously. Fields should be dropped on all formats.
Breece Hall
Hall could not find much space to run in Week 11 against a stout Patriots run defense. Hall’s 14 carries for 58 yards, along with 2 receptions for 5 yards and no touchdowns, is a performance to forget. The Jets’ Week 11 woes with QB struggles limited the run game despite Hall’s valiant effort. Hall remains the only Jets player to start in Fantasy leagues, and with a change at QB, Week 12 provides a bounce-back opportunity.
John Metchie III
Surprisingly, Metchie led all Jets receivers in yardage in Week 11 with 3 receptions for 45 yards and 1 touchdown. Metchie’s volume and reliability are risky even with Tyrod Taylor poised to command the Jets offense. With Garrett Wilson on IR, Metchie could provide the spark the Jets need to improve the passing game.
Mason Taylor
Taylor’s role is a focal point of the Jets’ offense despite another mediocre performance. Taylor had 3 receptions for 34 yards and no touchdowns in Week 11, making his appeal less desirable for Week 12. Fantasy managers hoping for a spark, however, may be rewarded in Week 12 with Tyrod Taylor now starting. Mason remains a risky start in Week 12, but fantasy managers can do worse.
Jameis Winston
Winston’s performance in Week 11 was solid for his 1st start of the season. The veteran completed 19-29 pass attempts for 201 yards, 1 Interception, and no touchdowns. Winston also had 3 carries for 10 yards on the ground and a touchdown. The Giants relied heavily on their run game, but Winston’s command under center is encouraging, even if Jaxson Dart is set to return in Week 12. Fantasy managers looking for another QB to replace a starter on BYE should keep an eye out for Darts’ availability.
Tyrone Tracy Jr.
Tracy bounced back in Week 11 with a stellar performance, leading all backs with 19 carries and 88 yards. Tracy also added 4 receptions for 51 yards, trailing behind Isiah Hodgins in receiving yards. Tracy’s is losing goal-line work to veteran Devin Singletary, but Tracy’s target share and volume continue to increase each Week. Fantasy managers can feel confident starting Tracy in Week 12 despite a formidable Detroit defensive front.
Devin Singletary
Fantasy managers who started the veteran in Week 11 were rewarded tremendously despite the RB committee for the Giants. Singletary ended Week 11 with 16 carries for 44 yards and 2 touchdowns while adding 1 reception for 3 yards. Singletary’s usage is volatile and inconsistent, but he continues to garner goal-line carries, making him touchdown dependent each Week. Fantasy managers should consider Singletary a flex for Week 12.
Isiah Hodgins
The Giants signed Hodgins off the Steelers’ practice squad, but he had an immediate impact for the Giants in Week 11. Hodgins had 5 receptions for 57 yards and no touchdowns in Week 11, but it’s his downfield presence that makes him a viable threat. Hodgins’ 6’4 stature provides the Giants with a reliable receiving option against most corners. A Week 12 matchup with a leaky Detroit Lions secondary provides Hodgins with a potential breakout. Fantasy managers looking for help at WR should consider Hodgins in 12-team PPR leagues.
Wan’Dale Robinson
Robinson had a quiet game in Week 11, finishing with 4 receptions for 36 yards. Despite the absence of Darius Slayton, it was Hodgins who received most of Winston’s passes. Robinson’s role remains vital even with a Week 11 dud. The return of Jaxson Dart should help Robinson in Week 12, but there may be a new WR 1 with Hodgins. Fantasy managers should monitor the Giants’ WR situation as a shake-up appears to be happening.
Theo Johnson
Johnson didn’t provide enough spark in the Week 11 loss to the Packers. Johnson’s role is volatile as the TE finished with only 3 receptions for 36 yards in Week 11. After a strong game in Week 10, Johnson’s usage may have suffered with Winston commanding the Giants’ offense. Fantasy managers can expect Johnson to get back on track if Dart Starts in Week 12.
