Giants
The Giants have fired their head coach, Brian Daboll, coming off another loss in Week 10. The Giants lost to the Bears 20-24 despite leading in the 2nd half. Daboll continues to impress his doubters by losing consecutive games, so his firing is not unexpected. Brian Daboll’s alluring defensive mindset was a favorable aspect in his hiring as the Giants’ coach. Daboll’s inability to close games and secure wins was alarming and far from coincidental. Daboll failed to win against the Broncos in Week 5 against the Saints, Week 12 against the Broncos, Week 9 against the 49ers, and now in Week 10 versus the Bears. The Giants will look to offensive coordinator Mike Kafka as the interim Coach for the remainder of the season.
Jaxson Dart
Dart left the game in the 2nd after being diagnosed with a concussion. The concussion occurred during a 7-yard run. The rookie took a hit, leading to his helmet hitting the turf in Chicago. Before exiting Week 10’s matchup with the Bears, Dart completed 19\29 pass attempts for 242 yards. Dart’s running ability was on display in Week 10 as the rookie had 6 carries for 66 yards and 2 touchdowns. Dart was exceptional before exiting, and fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status for Week 11. With Daboll’s firing now complete, it will be interesting to see how the offensive and defensive schemes will operate.
Tyrone Tracy Jr.
Tracy played well in Week 10 at Chicago despite splitting work with veteran RB Devin Singletary. Fantasy managers saw Tracy dominate the ground with 14 carries for 71 yards, adding 1 reception for 0 yards and no touchdowns. Tracy and Singletary appeared to have switched roles in Week 10. Fantasy managers can expect Tracy to remain TD-dependent for Week 11’s matchup with the Packers.
Devin Singletary
Singletary handled most of the receiving work with 3 receptions for 53 yards, adding 8 carries for 20 yards and no touchdowns. The veteran continues to split work with Tracy Jr. out in the back field. Fantasy managers expecting a breakout from Singletary should look elsewhere. The Giants RB committee will continue unless one player performs at a higher level or suffers an injury. Week 11’s Mathcup with Green Bay is difficult, but expect Singletary to remain TD dependent.
Darius Slayton
Slayton had the best game of the season in Week 10. Slayton led all Giant receivers with 89 yards on 4 catches and no touchdowns. Slayton’s deep threat ability was on display against the Bears’ weak secondary. Slayton remains a focal point of the offense heading into a Week 11 matchup with the Packers. Fantasy managers should monitor Jaxson Dart’s status in the concussion protocol, as Slayton’s projection highly depends on Dart playing.
Wan’Dale Robinson
Robinson performed well in Week 10, hauling in 6 passes for 62 yards and no touchdowns. Robinson’s presence in the Giants’ offense is invaluable for rookie QB Jaxson Dart. Robinson’s consistency on the field provides fantasy managers with a solid matchup with the Green Bay Packers in Week 11. Robinson is a top 20 receiver for Week 11 as long as Jaxson Dart can play.
Theo Johnson
Johnson continues to perform at a high level in the Giants’ scheme. Johnson is proving to be Jaxson Dart’s safety blanket as well as a big play option now that Cam Skattebo is out for the season. Johnson led all Giants wideouts with 7 receptions for 75 yards and no touchdowns. Week 11’s matchup at Green Bay is enticing, as the Packers allow close to 200 yards a game to receivers.
The Jets
The NY Jets coach Aaron Glenn secured their 2nd win of the season in Week 10. The 20-27 victory over the Cleveland Browns was thanks to a game-opening kick return by Kene Ngwangu for a touchdown. Later in the 1st quarter, Jets Punt returner, Isaiah Williams, was untouchable as he ran through the Browns’ special teams unit for another touchdown. The Jets’ Week 10 performance against a formidable Browns team. Breece Hall’s reception late in the 4th quarter was clutch despite QB Justin Fields’ subpar performance. The Jets have now won 2 games in a row, but the bigger Issue is Justin Fields’ inability to function within the Jets offense. The Jets’ victory in Week 10 will be short-lived as they face the New England Patriots in Week 11.
Justin Fields
Fields continues his inefficient command of the Jets offense in Week 10. Fields completed 6/11 pass attempts, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. Fields also had 7 carries for 28 yards on the ground. Regardless of coach Aaron Glenn’s ‘ optimism for Fields, the team should consider bringing back QB Tyrod Taylor in a Week 11 matchup. Justin Fields should remain on the bench in Week 11.
Breece Hall
Hall performed admirably in Week 10 against the Browns with 21 carries for 83 yards on the ground. Hall capped off his Week 10 performance with a crucial 42-yard reception for a touchdown. Despite trade rumors this season, the Jets’ Star RB remains the top option in the offense. Hall will face a tough Patriots defense ranked 2nd in the NFL at stopping the run. Fantasy managers can start Hall in Week 11, but expectations should be tempered.
Garrett Wilson
Wilson played in Week 10, but his return to action was short-lived due to re-injuring the knee. The Jets WR failed to catch the 3 passes Feilds threw at him before exiting in the 2nd half. It remains to be seen whether Wilson’s season is over after Week 10’s exit. Fantasy managers should prepare to drop Wilson in favor of a viable option as league playoffs are near.
Mason Taylor
Taylor’s Week 10 performance was abysmal in part due to Justin Fields at QB for the Jets. Fantasy managers hoping the talented Tight End would deliver adequate numbers were disappointed in Week 10. Taylor’s 1 reception for 4 yards offers less optimism for the Week 11 matchup against the Patriots. Fantasy needs to keep Taylor on the bench unless a change at QB occurs.
