The Bronx Bombers clinched a playoff spot in a comeback 3-2 win against the Chicago White Sox. The Yankees’ former Rookie of the Year starting pitcher, Luis Gil, pitched a gem. Gil held the White Sox on their toes most of the game before giving up a 2 run to White Sox SS Colson Montgomery in the bottom of the 6th inning. The Yankees’ 9th inning heroics produced another memorable moment in Pinstripes history. Watching Anthony Volpe hit a single to lead off the 9th inning and later scoring a run on a wild pitch was a powerful moment.
The Yankees hitters were locked in at the plate. With 2 outs and a full 3-2 count, SS Jose Caballero refused to be the last out. Yankees manager Aaron Boone is correct to define Caballero as a pest to opponents. Caballero showed off why he can be so dangerous as his game-winning single allowed Aaron Judge to score from 3rd easily. The impact and importance of this win are invaluable. The Yankees are now tied with the Blue Jays 1st place in the AL East after defeating the White Sox 8-1 on Wednesday. With 4 games left in the MLB season, Aaron Boone and his squad will look to win the AL East division for the 2nd consecutive year.
Yankees team Captain and 2025 MVP candidate Aaron Judge had another elite performance going 2-4, with 2 home runs and 3 RBI’s Wednesday. Judge hit his 50th and 51st Home runs to cement himself as the fourth player in MLBl history to play at least four seasons and hit 50 home runs in each. Judge is a special talent, a once in a lifetime athlete that exemplifies excellence in the sport of baseball.
The Yankees will look for a sweep tonight to close out the series against the Chicago White Sox and secure the AL East title.
