The Mets continue to perform sluggishly at the plate, looking outmatched on Tuesday.
Pete Alonso went 0-4, along with Juan Soto’s 0-3. Baseball fantasy managers should feel delighted to see Mets SS Francisco Lindor show some life, going 1-4, 1 RBI, and finally getting his team on the board in the 3rd inning. It’s still early in the season, and the New York Mets have had one of the toughest schedules, beginning their 2025 season on the road, so there’s no reason for fans to hit the panic button yet.
Mets Pitcher Kodai Senga did a good job on the mound, finishing his night with 5.0 IP, 8 Strikeouts, 1 BB, and 2 ER. Senga was almost unhittable despite giving up a home run to Kyle Bower in the bottom of the 1st inning. Senga was throwing well, leaving Marlins hitters off balance with a nasty forkball and explosive fastball combo.
Mets manager, Carlos Mendoza, had high praise for bullpen pitcher Max Kranick for keeping his team close to contention despite another tough loss; 3.0 IP, 1 strikeout, 0 BBs, 0 ER, 0 Hits, The Mets bullpen has been lights out gving up just 2 ER in 9.4 innings, 9 strikeouts, and 4 hits.
The Mets are now in 3rd place in the NL East playing .400 ball. They look to take the last game of a 3-game set against Miami to lock in their first series win on Wednesday.
