The New York Yankees win the final game of their 3 game set with Milwaukee on Sunday afternoon with a final score of 3-12. The Bronx Bombers lived up to their names with home runs coming from 3 different players. The Yankees lineup was relentless at the plate with 11 hits and 12 runs to send the Brewers packing out of the Bronx and a statement to the league after a tough World Series loss.
Aaron Judge went 1-4 with 2 BB, and a 2 run home run to end his day. Second baseman Jazz Chisholm went 3-4 with 2 home runs, and 5 RBI’s as support. The Yankees look good to start the season and, as a team, have hit a MLB league record – 15 home runs in the first 3 games of the 2025 season. Rookie C/1st baseman Ben Rice also showed off some of his new found strength launching a home run into right field to join the hit brigade against the Brewers.
The Yankees line up, from 1-9, has great hitters with home run power, making it difficult for pitchers to settle into their rhythm and shut down this potent group of players. They have a balanced roster that focuses on athleticism in the infield and outfield, but it also emphasizes on defense, and most importantly scoring runs on offense. With 3 games into the young season, it is exciting to see new comers like 1st baseman Paul Goldschmidt, who went 3-5, with 1 RBI and OF Cody Bellinger 0-3, sac-fly RBI, contribute at the plate and help bring in runners on base. This was a major weakness for the Yankees the last couple of seasons.
The departure of generational talent Juan Soto appears to of had little impact on his former team. Aaron Judge is off to a legendary start and his performance against the Milwaukee brewers earned him American League Player of the Week. Showcasing a .545 batting avg, 2 doubles, 4 Hrs, 11 RBI’s and 3 walks, to compliment his .643 OBP on base percentage, and 1.818 slugging. Aaron Judge and the Bombers look to stay hot in their next series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday March 31.
