The New York Yankees faced off against the Brewers and former teammate Nestor Cortes on Saturday. It must’ve felt like deja vu for Cortes, giving up a lead-off home run to Yankees 1st baseman Paul Goldschmidt (2-3). The next pitch to the Yankees CF Cody Bellinger (3-5), also landed in the seats in right field, leaving the crowd in awe.

Yankees team captain Aaron Judge, (4-6)(8 RBIs), then launched his 1st of 3 home run bombs to grace the afternoon crowd in what would be the beginning of a 9 home run night for the Bronx Bombers who scored 20 runs by the end of the game. Fantasy managers who drafted Aaron Judge should feel content in knowing the 2x MVP winner is off to another legendary season, so start with confidence.

OF Cody Bellinger is off to a solid start in pinstripes. Bellinger seems poised to have a big year if he can continue to hit towards the friendly depths of right field. With Bellinger’s elite speed, expect more steals to come in no time.

Manager Aaron Boone gave the New York Yankees lineup a bit of a shuffle for game 2 of the 3 game set against the Brewers. The move worked perfectly, paving the way for a historic night in baseball and the Yankees franchise after leading 9 home runs in a single game.

Lefty ace Max Freid made his Yankees debut on Saturday but was inefficient on the mound. Freid lasted 4.2 innings, giving up 7 hits, 2 BB, 4 strikeouts, and 2 earned runs. Luckily for Freid, the Yankees’ potent lineup gave him a welcome boost in his first game donning pinstripes despite not qualifying for the win. Freid looked sharp but lost focus on several curveball pitches, leaving them up in the zone. It’s no easy task playing in front of a sell-out crowd for the second consecutive game, so Freid surely felt emotions of excitement and anxiousness. “It was a great first experience in Yankee Stadium as a Yankee.” The Yankees look to close out the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday after winning the series.
