The New York Yankees faced off against the Brewers and former teammate Nestor Cortes on Saturday. Lefty ace Max Freid made his Yankees debut on Saturday but was inefficient on the mound. Freid lasted 4.2 innings, giving up 7 hits, 2 BB, 4 strikeouts, and 2 earned runs. Luckily for Freid, the Yankees’ potent lineup gave him a welcome boost in his first game donning pinstripes despite not qualifying for the win. Freid looked sharp but lost focus on several curveball pitches, leaving them up in the zone. It’s no easy task playing in front of a sell-out crowd for the second consecutive game, so Freid surely felt emotions of excitement and anxiousness. “It was a great first experience in Yankee Stadium as a Yankee.” The Yankees look to close out the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday after winning the series.
