The New York Knicks defeated the Dallas Mavericks last night thanks to elite performances by Karl Anthony Towns and Guard Josh Hart. Both players had a historic night at the Garden, filling up the stats sheet with each player posting a triple-double, the first in Knicks franchise history to accomplish this rare phenom. KAT scored 26 points on 10-19 FG, 11 assists, 12 rebounds, while Hart finished with 16 pts, 11 assists, and 12 rebounds. Forward OG Anunoby was no slouch either, leading the Knicks in scoring with 35 pts, 3-6 3PTS, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals to end his night. Forward Mikal Bridges also had a good night, contributing 21 pts and making 2-4 3 pts.

The Knicks were relentless against an injured Dallas Mavericks team that was missing Guard Kyrie Irving with a season-ending ACL injury, Power forward Anthony Davis (since Feb 8 with an adductor Strain), and Center Derrick Lively (stress fracture in left ankle). Mavericks small forward Naji Marshall performed well, outscoring all Knicks players, shooting 68% with 38 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 block.

Despite the absence of All-Star Guard Jalen Brunson, the Knicks are playing .600 ball with a 6-4 record. The Big Bodega is having another solid season with the Knicks shooting 52.5% from the floor while averaging 24 points this season, along with 12.9 rebounds each game, which is 2nd in the NBA. Teammate Josh Hart continues to play at an elite level this season, averaging 13 points per game, 9.7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists with the Knicks. There’s minimal doubt the talent New York showcase on the court each night, Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau credits the “aggression and communication” from his team in the second half of the game, allowing players to contribute on defense and offense.

The Knicks will host the L.A. Clippers at Madison Square Garden Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. The New York Knicks are in 2nd place behind the Boston Celtics in the East with 1 win away from clinching the playoffs.
